$600.00 project:  This client wanted to transform her dark, ugly condo kitchen into one that had a distinctly designer French Country look.   She had a very limited budget but time and lots of creativity! Devine Designs created a design that the client loved! To create the look, we painted two walls and wallpapered an accent wall & sofit above the cabinets.  We removed the two cabinet doors from under the sink & replaced it with a skirt that softens the space. We replaced the two ceiling light fixtures. We were able to find a discontinued chandelier for just $32.00 at a local home improvement store and spray painted it black to go with the décor. The home owner replaced the torn and chipped laminate flooring with peel and stick tiles that look like brick. The real transformation, however, came with the cabinetry.

From Bleak to Chic!

The custom look of the formerly dark, pressboard cabinets was achieved by first framing out the doors with 1 x 2’s that we mitered at the corners.

We then primed, painted and created a glaze that the client artfully washed onto the cabinetry. It was a time consuming process to create just the look she wanted.

Devine Designs was able to find pulls for the cabinets that had a very custom look but cost only $70 for ALL the hardware!
