In using creativity vs. expense to help my clients transform their homes, PAINT gives us our biggest bang for the buck. With the arrival of the warm weather comes the itch to spruce up our homes. So, here are a few ideas to make your rooms pop with paint!

1. Paint your oak stair railing black! Get a quart of high-gloss black paint and watch the railings go from blah to ahh! Try Benjamin Moore's "Black Bean Soup."

2. Give your dining room a color lift! The "new red" is going orange - more like a coral or persimmon color - not yesterday's tomato red. Try Benjamin Moore's "Golden Gate" 033.

3. Create a statement by transforming your book cases by painting the backs of your bookshelves a contrasting color that coordinates with your room's decor. It will make the contents pop!

4. Don't forget the "5th wall" as I call it - Paint Your Ceilings!

5. To really make your fireplace a focal point, paint the fireplace wall a contrasting color
